Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games FDC from CHINA

The 2010 Asian Para Games, a sport event for disabled Asian athletes,Which will be opens on December 12 and closes December 19, 2010, two weeks after the conclusion of the 16th Asian Games. The event will be held in Guangzhou, China.

The upcoming Asian Para Games in Guangzhou where organizers are celebrating the 100-day countdown to the start of the event.

They held the ceremony, called "Glory of Asia, Light of Life", at Tianhe gymnasium.

A commemorative stamp for the Games, and announced corporate donations of more than 30 million yuan. The gala's four chapters included themes like " We cheer, we share, we win" and "viva for shining life", and it featured donation activities on-stage.

The program also featured a number of celebrities from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore.

The date marks the 600th anniversary of the ocean voyages of Zheng He, the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) navigator, who went on seven voyages to show China's might to the rest of the world, under the command of Emperor Yung-Lo. These voyages sought to prove to the Chinese people that the upsurper Yung-Lo was worthy of the throne and the gods accepted him with the Mandate of Heaven. The celebration's creation honors China's commitment to the International Maritime Organization, of which it is a member.

Wen Yanbo (1006-1097), courtesy name kuanfu, was a native of Jiexiu, Fenzhou (within the territory of present-day Shanxi Province). He served as the prime minister of northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) for half a century and compiled the Collection of Duke Lu. Wen was sharp when he was a child. One day, he and his peers played a ball, which accidentally fell into a tree hole. While the other kids were worried about not being able to retrieve it, Wen filled the hole with water to allow the ball to float out. This story, showing Wen's wisdom in addressing difficulties, has been widely circulated among Chinese people, especially the youngsters, for a thousand years.

6元: Expo Boulevard -Stretching one kilometer in the central part of the Expo Site, the Expo Boulevard is a two-story, semi-opening structure, which serves as the transportation hub of the Expo Site, topped by white films. Covering a floor space of 250,000 square meters, it it the largest single-unit building in the Expo Site. The distinctively-designed six cone-shaped "Sunshine Valleys" scattered along the boulevard highlight the structure with such functions as underground space lighting and rainwater collection. The Expo Boulevard links together China Pavilion, Theme Pavilion, Expo Center, and Performance Center, all contributing to an architectural spectacle. After the Shanghai Expo, the "one boulevard and four pavilions" will be permanently preserved on the site as the most significant exhibit and the major landscape zone in the Expo Site.

FDC Name:Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains.

Details:Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains is the magnum opus and one of the few surviving works by the Yuan Dynasty painter Huang Gongwang (1269 - 1354). Painted between 1348 and 1350, the Chinese landscape painting was burnt into two pieces during the reign of the Shunzhi Emperor (1644 - 1661) in Qing Dynasty. Today, one piece is kept in the Zhejiang Provincial Museum in Hangzhou, China; while the other is kept in the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan. The entire painting combined would measure 691.3 cm in length.

Details:The Beijing - Hangzhou Grand Canal, stretching 1,794 kilometers from Beijing in the north to Hangzhou in the south, is the longest manmade water course in the world. It passes through Beijing and Tianjin Municipalities and the provinces of Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, connecting the Haihe, Huanghe (Yellow), Huaihe, Changjiang (Yangtze), and Qiantang Rivers. Since its construction, the canal has played an important role in shipping, irrigation, flood control, drainage, and the interflow of commodities, and has promoted cultural exchange as well. The Zhenguosi Pagoda, in the canal's Gaoyou Section, is one of the representatives for the extensive promotion of Buddhist culture. First built in the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), the pagoda originally stood on the bank of the canal, and when the canal was extended in 1956, a 100-meter-diameter earthen islet was erected to surround and defend the pagoda, making it the only islet-based Buddhist pagoda along the Grand Canal.

Song Renqiong (1909 - 2005), born in Liuyang, Hunan Province, was an excellent member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a great communist, and outstanding proletarian revolutionist, and a prominent leader in political work of the CPC and Chinese army. A member of CPC since 1926, Song participated in the Autumn Harvest Uprising in 1927, and together with Mao Zedong, formed the Jinggangshan Base of the Red Army. During the war period, Song devoted himself in many battles throughout the country, showing great fearlessness and selflessness. Since the founding of New China, he ever acted as secretary of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, deputy director of the Advisory Commission of the CPC Central Committee, and vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). In 1955, he was conferred the rank of general. In the nearly 80 years of his revolutionary career, Song devoted his lifetime to the liberation of the Chinese people and the cause of Chinese socialist modernization. His lofty morality and brilliant achievements have been deeply imprinted in people's mind.
