The stamp was issued by the department of posts as part of the ongoing 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Lala Kamlapat.The visionary founder of JK Organization.
Born in 1884, Lala Kamlapat Singhania catalysed a tidal wave of industrial regeneration and social engineering in pre-independent North India.A Swadeshi at heart, he believed, What Englishmen can do, we can do better. The result: In the early decades of the twentieth century, J.K. Cotton Spinning & Weaving Mills Co. Ltd. produced yarn and cloth that rivalled best imports from Manchester. Between 1921 and 1934, Lala Kamlapat Singhania set up multiple businesses and factories, reinforcing the foundation of J.K. Organisation. He was also a staunch nationalist and participated with vigour in the freedom movement, besides playing a role in uniting the business community and facilitating various industry bodies and associations.
Remark:This is the 2nd stamp release this year of Singhania brothers.India Post has released in total 3 stamps of all Singhania brothers.As usual another personality stamps.Both the stamps and FDC are not up to the mark.Typical old design of FDC by India Post.Thanks Depanker for sending this FDC by Regd.
