On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, when Dr. Robert Koch detected
the cause of tuberculosis and made propaganda against TB, on the 24th
of March 2012, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam
issued a stampset entitled "For a Vietnam free of Tuberculosis!"
Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by an infection Mycobacterium
Tuberculosis which mostly affects the lungs but sometimes the other
parts of the body. Today, TB is widely spread, having bad effect over
one third of the world's population, with 9 million new cases each year,
causing 2 million deaths, mostly in developing countries.
