FDC Name:2nd Africa-India Forum Summit.
Issue Date:25th MAY'2011
Details
In April 2008,India hosted the First Africa India Forum Summit in Delhi. This summit built upon the foundation of historical relationship that existed between India and Africa.
The second India-Africa summit was aimed at consolidating trade ties between the two regions, which together account for a third of the world's population. The two sides signed a cooperation framework to further bolster the economic relations that got a boost after the first India-Africa summit in 2008 in New Delhi.
They also signed a political statement — the so-called Addis Ababa Declaration — calling for comprehensive reform of the United Nations system including an expanded UN Security Council in which the partners have pledged each others support for a permanent seat. Indian investment is mainly in the private sector. The stamps depict the African and Asian Elephants.
Remark: This FDC posted to me by Debasish on the issue date by Speed Post . The local rate for speed post is only INR 12.00 and for registered post it is INR 25.00, he could have sent the FDC by registered post as the cost of the both stamps are INR 30.00 which is well within the required rate. When I contact him asked for the above question he told me that for the bar-code label he has send the FDC by speed post.
