Details:An Irish Lady Nano Nagle from Cork ,Ireland had founded “The Congregation Of Presentation Sisters ” in 1775. This Group came to Chennai in 1842 to work for Anglo - Indian Community and began work in St Ursula’s Anglo - Indian School already in existence. The Present Church Park land was acquired in 1904 and Foundation stone laid in 1908 for Sacred Heart High School , Church Park . The School started as a middle school with 137 Students and grew to become a private matriculation school in 1954.
The signature song of the school is" Stand brave,stand true under the green and gold"
The Stamp & FDC Commemorates the Centenary of the School.
Remark:This is unique post mark FDC 09-09-09 sent to me by my friend on the issue date.Thanks to India Post for releasing such FDC on this date and making available materials on the Philatelic counter on the issue date(This is most important for a real posted FDC collector).I have also sent to all my friends this unique date FDC by registered post so that it is real life time collectable item because of the date 09-09-09.
